Godaddy Review

When you think Godaddy, you probably think of domain names. But did you know that Godaddy offers web hosting as well? Godaddy offers several web hosting plans including both Windows and Linux plans.

Godaddy Hosting Experience

Unfortunately my experiences with Godaddy hosting have been pretty poor. The first thing you’ll notice when you try to purchase web hosting is the number of upsells you encounter as you checkout. It’s really quite a turn-off to be sold extra products you don’t need at every turn. I know Godaddy is known for this, but you rarely see this with any other hosting provider.

Godaddy uses its own control panel to help you manage your web hosting account, and it really is quite slow. Everything you try to do in it is very slow in my experience. Why they don’t use cPanel like everyone else I don’t know.

Support with Godaddy is a mixed bag. In my experiences with customer support, a couple of the people I dealt with didn’t seem very knowledgable. In another case, I had one person try to upsell me on a VPS or dedicated hosting plan to solve one of my issues. That wasn’t something that sat well with me.

While I don’t mind using Godaddy to purchase domain names, I don’t think I can recommend Godaddy for hosting. Godaddy is a huge company that sells many things, and I’d rather choose a web host that’s dedicated to the job. If you’re looking for a good web hosting company to join, I would check out Hostgator instead.

I have used godaddy.com for my business domain name for the last two years. I have never had a problem with them. The fees are very reasonable and service is very good, I have used other sites to purchase domain names in the past, but none have ever before have i ever had as good experience as I have had with godaddy.com. I will never use other company for domain name service, I have found the one I will stick with.I recommend this company to anyone trying to set up a website this site is explanatory and very helpful. They make it easy to build your own website.

I’m surprise to see GoDaddy at the bottom of the list. But, GoDaddy is one of the best hosting providers I ever encountered. The have many extensions and features you can add to your website and they support also anything for example, Elgg open source social network maker.

You can easily edit your hosting and add or remove features wit a breeze. As for their customer service, its mind blowing. I had a problem about my hosting they replied the next day with the problem solved and I didn’t have to worry, it was just that simple.

Their domains are cheap for a year and you could also make money off that domain in the marketplace.
I recommend GoDaddy to anyone who is interested in making a website :)

I run multiple websites for myself and clients. I have used godaddy as my main host for a few years. Before I used godaddy, I used some “fly by night” places that either couldn’t understand English or spent 100 days per year on ‘vacation.’ When the host went down and my websites couldn’t be reached, these hosts were nowhere to be found. That’s why I appreciate godaddy. They are a solid company with a proven background and have reliably kept me in business for years. Since I found godaddy, I have had no reason to look anywhere else for web hosting.

I have run multiple sites using GoDaddy for hosting and I have never had any negative experiences with them. Anytime, I had technical questions I always received excellent customer service. I have been with GoDaddy for over 7 years, I purchase all of my domains through them to which I own about 10. I have no desires to look elsewhere for web hosting. GoDaddy offers my businesses the products we need.

I recently chose to use GoDaddy.com webhosting and domain services for a client project that I was working on. I would not go as far to say that it is the best webhost provider that I have encountered, but GoDaddy offers a plethora of add on services for webhosting accounts that just can’t be found for cheap anywhere else.

I found the website a bit difficult to use, MUCH more difficult in comparison to at least three other webhost services that I have used in the past. I experienced almost no down time and only encountered an error one time with their services, which upon contacting customer support, they corrected and refunded to me in a matter of minutes. I wouldn’t recommend GoDaddy for the beginner based web designer…. I found the website to be intimidating to navigate through. If its speed and ease of use that you’re looking for it for cheap…. GoDaddy is not for you. If you’re willing to take some time to learn the site and how to use its features, it’s a treasure trove waiting to be discovered.

I used godaddy for many of my work websites and i have to say the first time i used it it was easy and almost fun right out of he box. The up-time was never a problem . It was up 100% of the time. even the FTP and the uploading was made easy and there are a lot of helpful guides for people that want to know were to put there site and how it should be set up. Overall the great value and the features make it one of my favorite it isn’t the top on my list only because of newer models of web-hosting that come with great website apps.

I used godaddy for a little while sometime ago, and I was relatively pleased with it. I couldn’t imagine it as the best host for the money (I am a cheapskate). However, when I was using it as sort of a blog site more or less, and I really appreciated the features and the customization for my website. In my experience, it was down more than it should have been, but it wasn’t anything that was destructive to my site. I don’t know if anyone has experienced this, but that was just what happened to me. All in all, I really enjoyed using it.

I have been with Godaddy for over 3 years now and I must say that it has been nothing but a nightmare. Anytime that I have had any issues, even small problems, you can rest assured that they did not get resolved same day. Also, their new service, called Grid Hosting, is a disaster. You never know when your site will be down and the support team doesn’t offer very supportive help. It is obvious that the support center tried to help me based on pre-defined topics and clearly have no clue as to what is wrong when I need help.

I had a web hosting account with them and still had about 1 year to go. Unfortunately this got shut down because they said that I was sending viral emails. The funny thing is, I never had any html or other files during my relationship with them. Still my site was blocked and the support team kept sending me junk pre-defined responses to all of my queries. Finally I decided to remove my hosting account because of all the issues that I was having. I do not recommend this company at all.

I have used Godaddy.com for about 3 months, and cancelled it. I was frustrated with them from the get go, mainly because of all the back end offers they keep trying to sell you. Response has been slow in receiving any help and site was unreliable. In the end you get what you pay for.

One of the things I like about Godaddy is the option to pay for web hosting each month. A lot of other hosting companies only allow annual payments, which is not always convenient. Godaddy allows you to spread the cost and also to add extra options as you go.

The website tonight feature is very useful and easy to use. You don’t really need many technical skills to be able to create your own website, literally “tonight”.

On the whole, I have found my experience with Godaddy to be a positive one and would recommend their service. The only downside is the upsells the whole way through the purchasing process. However, this is not a big problem and is far outweighed by the benefits.

I use Godaddy for my hosting and I am satisfied with them in that respect. It seems like they are always changing their website around and I always feel like I’m visiting it for the first time every time I go there each month to pay my hosting bill.

I dont have my hosting renewed automatically because off two reasons, 1. there are no coupon codes applied when using auto billing, and 2. they bill too bar in advance. If my hosting is due to be paid on Monday, then do not attempt to bill me for it until Monday OK?

Their customer service on the telephone is great and pretty quick. The email customer service is almost always a canned letter and then when you point out that they havent addressed your issue, they usually get it correct on the second reply. It seems like they let the noobs do the emails and only the real geeks answer the phones. :)

My uptime with them is at one hundred percent as far as I have seen. If I miss a payment on hosting, then my site goes down – but that is not their fault – and the site isnt really down, it just converts itself to a godaddy splash page saying OOPs! call us!!

I have used Godaddy now for a few years now with some of my work websites and have found it to be better than most but not the best on the market. Than again if your looking for the best on the market you will be paying a lot more money for it too. With Godaddy I get all the features that I am looking for in a web hosting site for a great price. Anytime I ever had an issue with then, which hasn’t been often at all, I found that their customer support team was able to help me out with whatever I needed. When it comes to features Godaddy has more than I need most of the time but it is always good to know if I do need them they are there. Overall I think that for the price of it and all of it’s features it is worth having and using.

I have hosted several websites an both go-daddy and host-gator. Actually I liked both of them. They each gave their good and bad points. I do however tend to lean towards go-daddy because of all the features they offer as opposed to others. Their customer support is probably the main reason I stick with go-daddy, it’s the best I’ve ever seen. You may have a little wait time to speak with a representative over the phone, but it is well worth the wait. They really do care about their customers.
I also like the coupons that are available to buy domain names. There is also a site you can visit to shop for available domain names really fast that is linked to go-daddy. So when you find one you like that is available, you simply click on it and it will take you right to the go-daddy page to purchase and register it.
When your fighting for a domain name in a popular niche, this can be really helpful.

This is as of January of 2011. (Not sure if it will be this way forever, so I’ll lead with that). I gotta say, Go Daddy has had it’s share of enemies when it got started out the gate. Pre-2007 they simply didn’t have the business practices that made them a top host. (And even then, I would give them 4 star reviews).

I have hosted with companies such as SliceHost, BlueHost, HostGator, and many more, with many sites from simple HTML sites, to large data driven corporations requiring dedicated servers, either for my own sites, or for client sites. (I’m a web designer). For extremely tech heavy small sites (needing UNIX root access for example), Go Daddy isn’t a good choice, but only because they simply don’t allow shared hosting to have that type of power. Other than that though, Go Daddy has always been a superior company to the others. Their overall uptime, solid backend tools, ease of use, and speedy servers more than make up for any occasional issue you may face. Go Daddy doesn’t oversell their servers, so they have reliable speeds.

I will say I’ve had my issues with GoDaddy over the years. With my varied experience from small to large websites, I’ve locked horns with GoDaddy more than once over something. However, it’s only in very RARE circumstances, and it’s usually because I’m trying to do something on my server space that they just won’t allow (for safety of shared accounts). Go Daddy does try to upsell you alot, but hey, it’s a business, it’s going to happen. Overall…. here is my recommendation:

Site with high tech (voip protocol, daemon processes, root access needs): Go somewhere else… GoDaddy doesn’t give the more geeky users the power alot of smaller companies will in shared hosting (such as WSGI, Advanced SSH, access to process managers, etc).

Small business/Personal/New User: Go with GoDaddy. They make it easy on you, and you probably will NEVER have an issue you will even run into (most users have plenty of freedom for every need they can dream of).

Large Companies (big enough to need Virtual but not their own dedicated server): I still say GoDaddy. Overall, their specs are great for the price you pay, they give you some pretty awesome build options on the default cookie plans, and you can do whatever you want with your virtual server reliably.

Pure Dedicated Server: I don’t know… sorry. I’ve never needed such a massive server requirement.

That’s my 2 cents, hope it helps.

Although the hosting is cheap; I didn’t think the tools helped me very good (I am sorta new though I guess but the help sections didn’t help me either). I found it hard to set up at first but when I finally got it up and workining, it was perfect. I think I will use godaddy again because of the how cheap it is but if I find a better one that is a little better for a couple bucks more then I will have to jump ship.

I used GoDaddy to host my business website when I was working. I had a little small business going and I thought I needed a website. Having GoDaddy was great for the short time that I had it. i only used it for 4 months but the customer service was great and I never had one problem with the hosting of the website. Editing was easy and I liked that I could have my own domain name.

hi…… Godaddy is providing best and perfect service as i have ever seen…. their domains are perfectly cheap with fast access…. GoDaddy is like a rocket ship in terms of speed…and GoDaddy does use their own control panel (Plesk), which is kind of quirky to work with, but I would just recommend that you download your own FTP client so that you do not have to use their Cpanel

GoDaddy is a really popular site but unfortunately their marketing is the best thing they’ve got going for them. I’ve been a moderately happy client of theirs for the past 6 years. Since then, the prices have steadily climbed, while their site is not easy to navigate due to them constantly up-selling anything they can to you. While my site is up most of the time, fairly reliable, when you have an issue, Support is either tough to get a hold of, or they aren’t the most knowledgeable about solving your problem. I’m an experienced programmer in Linux/PHP and most of the time I know exactly what the problem is, but the support person still goes through their script of troubleshooting and it’s just a waste of time. I am looking for a better host and may try out one of the others I see ranked higher on this site.

I’ve been using GoDaddy as my primary registrar for several years now. Between the sites I manage as part of my job, the sites I manage for friends, and my own personal sites I have a total of 12 domains registered through them. I have never transferred a domain away from GoDaddy, mainly because I’ve never seen a need to. They have low prices and the service does what it’s supposed to. Why would I leave? I must admit my review may be slightly biased only because I’ve never given any of the other web hosting sites a chance…but why would I do that when GoDaddy has been perfectly fine so far?

I used Godaddy for both a personal blog site and a professional business site for several years, running my spouse’s law firm through a website hosted by godaddy. I didn’t know much about website development prior to using the host, and I found that Godaddy to be very user friendly for those of us that don’t know much about how to build a website. It was a little more expensive than some hosts, but with discounts for bulk purchases, the cost was basically the same as most sites.

I use Godaddy all the time for setting new client multi-sites,
they have always been good for trial hosting to see if the material you have made will work an
function in all the many browser environments,

And Godaddy has all the full capabilities of setting up your own hand made sites like I do and it has a great website tool for beginners or if you just like to monkey around.

One of the best things is also it carries database functions to test out your forums or blogs,
The payment fees are very reasonable and service is quick and dependable, I have used other sites to purchase domain names in the past, but none have ever before have i ever had as good experience as I have had with godaddy.com

This Hosting Is very Reliable and has a easy to navigate design to it, Most of the website is top of the line and easy to use though they’re are some area’s which are confusing if you run into any problems the customer service usually help you out within the day within 5 – 10 hours of you signing up and purchasing a domain and or web hosting. It also offers cheap and amazing domains , That can be used for personal, Business, Or Any Other Uses, I highly Recommend GoDaddy Then Any Other Domain/Hosting Service Out There. But on a scale of 1 – 10 I would Give GoDaddy A 8 1/2.

**** Warning: Stay away from GoDaddy if you have a Forum or Shopping Cart or any other type of site that requires an email verification to create a new user account or if you need your emails delivered in a timely manner ****

I’ve been a GoDaddy customer for over 5 years. GoDaddy hosts both my personal and business Deluxe hosting accounts with over 50 domains. But they have recently made a change that has forced me to search for other hosting options which is why I’m here.

**** GoDaddy intentionally queues the emails you send between 15 minutes and 4 hours! ****

GoDaddy expects your customers/users to WAIT 15 minutes to 4 hours to be able to create an account that requires email verification on a forum, shopping cart, etc to be able to make a post or purchase a product. Sorry, but your customers/users won’t stick around that long!

This email delay is absolutely unacceptable!!!

GoDaddy is aware of their email problem but has no regard for resolving this issue, but instead focuses solely on marketing to gain new customers.

Godaddy is the absolute worst, I just had a customer service person fight with me to tell me the problem with our website is with the ISP not them…only to ask for (demand, since he refused at first) a manager who then disclosed that they were having problems with one of their servers…that they know of it, but then can’t guarantee when or if it will be resolved, really? We’ve been calling them for the same problem for over 6 weeks. We have a website that works sometimes and doesn’t work sometimes, and they think that is okay? Word of advice for small business owners, GoDaddy is not user friendly and they can care less about how their problems impact your business/bottom line. If your website is important to your company don’t use GoDaddy. I recommend finding a customer service focused company, which clearly they are not. That’s what my company is currently doing and it’s a hassle and expensive to move a website, especially when it has lots of fun features programming on the back end.
