As you may or may not know, HostMonster is a subsidiary of Bluehost. Both web hosting companies are owned by CEO Matt Heaton and they share both share the same datacenters, server and staff. The only real difference in these two web hosting companies is how they are marketed. Bluehost is more of a premium brand, while Hostmonster is marketed as a more low-cost hosting solution. This means you’ll often see Hostmonster discounts that you can’t get at Bluehost. Hostmonster currently serves over 750,000 domains.

Hostmonster currently offers a single shared hosting plan that gives you unlimited domains, bandwidth and diskspace for just $5.95 a month. You also can get a free domain name when you sign up with them.

Hostmonster uses CPanel to help you administer your web hosting account. You can take a look at what the Hostmonster CPanel actually looks like by using their demo login. Hostmonster uses SimpleScripts as their one-click installer for over 50 popular website scripts like WordPress, PHPBB, and more.

As stated above, Hostmonster shares the same Bluehost staff. Support is 24/7 and you can get support via email, phone or live chat. Support is not outsourced, which is a definite plus. Hostmonster also has an active forum over at hostmonsterforum.com.

Hostmonster is pretty good value for what you get. If you’re just starting a business and don’t have a lot of traffic yet, Hostmonster is quite capable. But once you start getting more traffic you might want to look into getting a VPS or more powerful server

I have been with hostmonster since 2008 and as far as I am concerned they are one of the best low cost web hosting outfits out there. For the price you pay, you get real value. Unlimited domains, unlimited space and unlimited bandwidth is a fact. As far as support goes they will answer your question in an hour or two depending on the complexity. I have only dealt with them through email so I can’t speak to their phone support even though they offer it. They only offer shared hosting so when it is time to go to your own server you will have to move. Highly Recommend!

What really made me decide to use their hosting is their free domain. Unlike other host, you rent the webspace but have to pay for the domain you are going to use. With this site, I have both a domain name (Not domain parking or any of the sort), I get to have my own domain.

You have unlimited space, bandwidth which is really good (even though, my site does take too much traffic as of this time.).

What I really liked the most is the fact that I got all these at a very affordable price.

As of this time, I haven’t encountered any problems with their services so I can’t say anything about their CS yet.
